This Demo Day went down in Business Angels of Slovenia History
Why, you’re asking? Because on May 20th Demo Day we hosted a group of international startups where none are incorporated in Slovenia. This is an exception, since usually the majority of presenting startups is local.
We prepared pitches of five teams from the Western Balkans. First to deliver a short elevator pitch was Ivmax, working on a mechanical toothbrush with built-in toothpaste. Next we listened to Marleq, which are building a large international HR and recruiter network to enable their customers land a job abroad faster. Third was ELS Development, an online school for 1:1 English lessons, primarily to serve the Asian market. After the first three startups, which are in essence consumer-focused, the audience shifted their attention to two B2B startups. Blocknify explained how they help their customers digitize internal corporate processes with integrated digital signature tools. Finally Tratics is a logistics startup enabling large industrials to ship their products across the North America more cheaply.
We organized this Demo day with CEP – Center for European Perspective. They helped us with sourcing 18 Western Balkans startups, from which Business Angels of Slovenia chose the final pitching five.
